An ICANN accredited registrar, 4Domains, launched Domain Auction site DotPound.com. 4Domains is possessed and operated by SEInc, which has been in the hosting business since 1997.

John Palmer, CTO of 4Domains said it’s crucial to stimulate the demand for promoting and purchasing domain names for an industry providing successfulness for both the buyer and seller.

“We look at this site as a monument to the industry for providing a free service maintained by an ICANN Accredited Registrar to benefit the entire registrar and web hosting industry,” said Chuck Steinberger, CEO of 4Domains said.

The company’s main intention for this site was to suggest an exit policy for their large domain holdings. But after its success, the company recognized that they could also boost the demand for registering new domain names and buying expired domain names if they provide a free auction service.

Since 1995, they have been serving clients with their websites, email and domain registrations. They were innovators in the industry with inventive products and services.
